Download PS2 Games!
by webmaster on Jun.25, 2010, under PS2
Do you still buy your Playstation games from your local shop? Walking down in the pouring rain only to find that the game you’re after is sold out? Now a day’s it’s just as easy to download a game from the internet, burn it to CD and play on! But most of the games are old and downloading them from P2P networks like Kazaa and torrent sites is illegal.
So is there away to download Playstation games from the comfort of your home legally? Yes there is! Certain websites have databases full of Playstation games, music, videos, movies and games on other platforms, all kept up to date and free to download. You have to pay a fee to join these sites, but it’s only a one time fee and there is usually a money back guarantee. Remember to check for this before you join though.
So are these sites easy to use? Most of them are, with both downloads straight from the site and person to person downloads. You just log on, search for the game your after and start downloading. When the game finishes downloading (which takes 2-4 hours) you can burn it to CD and play it on your Playstation. Simple!
Which are the best sites to use? There are a lot of them out there and some are no where near as good as others. There games are old and there download speeds are slow. Also some sites are specific to a certain platform. Some could be for Xbox or Nintendo, but there are a lot that has everything.
What would you say if I told you, you can now download PS2 games online? Not only has the newly arrived PS3 been out for quite a while now…but the previous systems games (the PS2) are still costing almost as much as they did when released. These days it now a lot more convenient and practical to be able to download PS2 games online and transfer to DVD through the power of the internet.
When downloading any software program or game from the internet it is always good to know the risks and issues involved. There has been much publicity in recent times on people using illegal peer-to-peer applications to enable free downloads. This is where you really benefit from using one of the paid services online for peace of mind when do download PS2 games. For a one time fee, not only do you get peace of mind any files downloaded are legal, safe and virus free, but also many of the better download sites will offer a comprehensive library of PS2 games.
Having the service archive a list of games and provide both the games, software and licensing required is generally well worth what is typically a once off nominal fee.
So, Are these sites user friendly and easy to use? Well, from the investigation I have done most seem to be. Of the 3 sites tested the process generally involves logging onto the website, performing a search for the games title, then clicking the ‘download PS2 game’ button. The game will generally take around 2 hours to download, (although this may change depending upon the speed of your internet connection).
Upon downloading the games will need to be transferred to DVD before they can be played on your PS2. Thankfully each of the services I subscribed to had their own DVD burning software, and as I have a DVD burner in my laptop is was no issue transferring the games onto disk.
Which are the best sites to use? There are quite a few sites available; many may be specific to a certain platform of console. Generally speaking the services that offer a large collection of games and downloads (think 10,000+) are reliable platforms that will offer both a good service and solid support and tools for the user should you encounter any problems.

Finally! Software To Play Backup Ps2/ps3/xbox360 Games Without Modchip!
by webmaster on Jun.09, 2010, under PS2
NOW play backup games with ease!!
FINALLY it has happened. After years of waiting around for the ps2 and ps3, there is a software based solution on how to play backup games on the consoles without a modchip or swap magic or cogswap or any of those other annoying methods.
Let me describe to you what the problem with this was and how we came across with the solution.
The problem:
The PS2 , PS3 and XBOX 360 all use laser print disks with their boot sequence hardcoded on the disk surface itself. They are burnt onto the disk so that people cannot just copy them using standard CD/DVD burners. Hence even if you DO copy the disk there is no way of this burnt sequence being copied along with the disk. Therefore your disk wont boot and the console would say “Please insert valid disk” . Annoying to every person who has made a backup copy.
There were a few interim solutions to this. Namely using a trigger disk like swap magic , action replay max or cogswap. These methods involved changing the disk midway and things like that. Second method was to use cogswap. Again this method was pretty annoying as we had to go with a long sequence of nonsense before playing the game. The third most dangerous method was installing a modchip , needless to say that modifying the hardware could destroy you console for good. After years of trying out different strategies we have finally come up with a software solution to burn disks WITH the boot sequence.
The Solution :
The solution to this war part provided by the PS2/PS3 and XBOX360 manufacturers themselves. The modus was downloadeble demo games. These games could be downloaded from their website and burnt onto the disk and played without a hitch. So obviously they contained the boot sequence as a part of the software. Obviously this sequence was embedded deep in the program and heavily encrypted. But after numerous trial and error methods we have managed to ISOLATE the boot sequence and now can burn them onto normal disks.
The software is rather simplistic as we did not feel we needed a complex interface. It works pretty much like a normal CD/DVD burner. You can copy/Burn ISO files onto the disk and it automatically burns the boot up sequence with the game and VOILA! you can now play these backup games on your PS2/PS3/XBOX360 without a problem.

*This software has been found to work successfully on the following consoles – PS2 both fat and slim, PS3, XBOX 360
The software does NOT work on the following console – XBOX

How to download and burn ps2 games?
Is there a way to download games from the Internet and burn them and play on the PS2? Can I make backup copies of PS2 games that I have? YES you can! And I will show you how to in the following tutorial.
Till now this wasnt possible. The PS2 has a great security system and recognises any burnt disks that we may make. But this security system has been broken. Here were the problems :
The PS2 hard burns the boot sequence of a disk onto genuine disk.
When the disk is played the PS2 looks into this area of the disk and boots up.
When a disk is copied by normal methods the boot sequence is not copied, and the disk is pretty much useless when run on the PS2.
This is why you couldn’t burn and play downloaded games the normal way.
But here is a step by step tutorial on how to play downloaded games and backup copies of PS2 games without using a modchip or any other mods to your console.
Download or get a genuine PS2 disk. This can be ANY disk , PAL or NTSC.
Buy a dvd-r media. Preferably from Sony as they are more durable. Make sure its a dvd-r and generally go or dvd9 disks not dvd5.
DOWNLOAD this software called Game Copy Wizard. This is a new software that is the core of this tutorial. This software has managed to isolate the boot sequence from the genuine disks and burns them onto the backup disk.
Install Game copy wizard using the installation wizard.
Now Start the software. Select new PS2 disk option. Insert the genuine PS2 disk you want to make a backup copy of OR select the ISO file of the downloaded game.
Now insert the dvd-r media you bought into the disk drive and select burn.
The burn process starts now and may take a while. The disk you get at the end of the burn process is a ready to play brand new backup disk. This disk can be directly run on the PS2 WITHOUT the need for a modchip or softmods like cog swap or game copy wizard.
This method has been tested on both the Fat and Slim versions of the PS2 and works fine on both. As I mentioned the game disk burnt WILL be as good as a genuine disk and will play without any problems. So FINALLY now thanks to game copy wizard there is a way to just burn PS2 games and play them without the hassle of any mods. Also this method does not violate your warrenty in any way and is perectly legal.

PS2 Vs. PS3: Which One Should You Go For and Why?
by webmaster on May.01, 2010, under PS2
The craze for owning a video game console is on the rise. Even the HDTVs today are making provisions for adding a gaming console to the TV, having judged the pulse of the present generation. With everyone joining in the hype, can Sony be far behind? With the release of Playstation2 and Playstation3, Sony has jumped into the bandwagon of producing quality gaming consoles. But as is usual when there are a number of gaming consoles to choose from, everyone is busy comparing the performance of PS2 and PS3. But only time will tell which one will come out on top.
The PS2
Sony produced the sixth generation video game console and named it PS2. It has overtaken all the gaming consoles in sales. It also sports a huge library of games. Ps2 is backward compatible and so it can play all the games you could play on the previous versions. It also has the capability to play both CDs and DVDs. Being upgraded to play DVDs is one of the main factors in the increasing sales. If you want to go online, then you have to purchase a Network adapter for online multiplayer support. Most of the games developed for online PS2 support broadband internet access. The PS2 also has the capability to run Linux.
The PS3
The PS3 is larger than all the competitive products in the market. You have to go in for a HDMI cable to play Blu-ray movies in 1080p definition. You also have the option of buying optical digital audio cable to get the full effects of 7.1 channel audio. It is extremely easy to get started on the PS3. Barring some games, the PS3 is backward compatible with all the games which can be played on the previous versions. The best part of PS3 is that it can play Blu-ray movies with the same efficiency as stand-alone Blu-ray players. The remote is optional and does not come with the original package.
Advantages of PS2
* Select and Start buttons
* Dual analog sticks to define the range of motion
* 12 analog buttons
* Mode button with digital, analog and steering modes
* Dual Shock II-compatible feedback
* Trigger firing buttons
* Macro button for better programmability
* 8-way precision directional pad
* Comfortable manufactured angles and curves
Advantages of PS3
* Better processing capacity
* Extensible over the Internet
* Wireless networking allows web browsing and file sharing
* Providing a Blu-ray player
* Can play all titles of previous gaming consoles from Sony
* 4 USB 2 ports
* Bluetooth 2.0 support
* Memory Stick, SD and CompactFlash slots
* 60 GB hard disk
PS2 vs. PS3
There were a lot of things going in favor of PS2 during its launch. It was introduced at a time when no other competitive products were in view. In fact, the main reason for the high sales figures of PS2 was not its games but the provision of a DVD player which was comparatively much cheaper than the stand alone DVD players. As a direct result of this provision, the hardware costs went down. The manufacturers were forced to cut down the prices.
But when Sony announced the PS3, the same factors were not in favor of it. This time around Sony has competition from Nintendo and Microsoft. There has also been a high rise in the cost of PS3 which does not augur well for its sales. The Blu-ray feature has been beaten to the market with the introduction of HD-DVD, which offers better picture quality. You also have to invest a lot more on additional hardware when you purchase the PS3. This adds to the already huge cost. And lastly, PS3 does not include any particular new feature to talk about. Whereas, the PS3 was a significantly better product than its predecessors.
So the PS3 seems to be losing out on the PS2. It is time Sony took notice and tried to make amends. Otherwise the PS2 will remain in the driver`s seat at least for the time being.
