Is there a way to download games from the Internet and burn them and play on the PS2? Can I make backup copies of PS2 games that I have? YES you can! And I will show you how to in the following tutorial.
Till now this wasnt possible. The PS2 has a great security system and recognises any burnt disks that we may make. But this security system has been broken. Here were the problems :
The PS2 hard burns the boot sequence of a disk onto genuine disk.
When the disk is played the PS2 looks into this area of the disk and boots up.
When a disk is copied by normal methods the boot sequence is not copied, and the disk is pretty much useless when run on the PS2.
This is why you couldn’t burn and play downloaded games the normal way.
But here is a step by step tutorial on how to play downloaded games and backup copies of PS2 games without using a modchip or any other mods to your console.
Download or get a genuine PS2 disk. This can be ANY disk , PAL or NTSC.
Buy a dvd-r media. Preferably from Sony as they are more durable. Make sure its a dvd-r and generally go or dvd9 disks not dvd5.
DOWNLOAD this software called Game Copy Wizard. This is a new software that is the core of this tutorial. This software has managed to isolate the boot sequence from the genuine disks and burns them onto the backup disk.
Install Game copy wizard using the installation wizard.
Now Start the software. Select new PS2 disk option. Insert the genuine PS2 disk you want to make a backup copy of OR select the ISO file of the downloaded game.
Now insert the dvd-r media you bought into the disk drive and select burn.
The burn process starts now and may take a while. The disk you get at the end of the burn process is a ready to play brand new backup disk. This disk can be directly run on the PS2 WITHOUT the need for a modchip or softmods like cog swap or game copy wizard.
This method has been tested on both the Fat and Slim versions of the PS2 and works fine on both. As I mentioned the game disk burnt WILL be as good as a genuine disk and will play without any problems. So FINALLY now thanks to game copy wizard there is a way to just burn PS2 games and play them without the hassle of any mods. Also this method does not violate your warrenty in any way and is perectly legal.

I agree with punishing those people stealing software but backing up the video game you already paid for is something that every intelligent person should do. This article is all about teaching you how to do a copy when you have the .ISO file.
First, you have to alter the Xbox 360 to use the homebrew soft. By doing this you will void the warranty. You can also try to run GameFly. You can also search the XboxScene if you want to get more information. After you altered the Xbox and have the .ISO file, you can get on with it. Make sure you will use quality media to do this file. In order to get the video game, you have to use Dual Layer DVDs. They are very different from DVD-R or DVD+R. You need to check if on your DVD it is written DVD-DL. Then you know you have the right disc.
You can use Verbatim brand as they are very reliable. Or, you can try Memorex, which they are also good. The software you will use is Imgburn and you can download it from the internet, going to imgburn.com. After you install the software utility, you have to use the settings menu to change the break of the layer to L0 = 1913760. This change allows the program to create a layer break on that disc. This break is responsible for telling Xbox 360 that the disc inside is authentic. So make sure you change that setting and you will not have any problems.
After this, all will go smooth. You need to open your file and adjust the speed of the burning. Make sure you use less than the maximum speed of the burner. It is safer this way. There are people saying that this measure is useless but I have noticed that no disc will break if it is burned on a lower (like 2.4x) burning speed. The disc is ready and all you need is to press play.
